Description
The High Stability Linear Shift is a UHV transfer mechanism in which the top flange moves towards or away from the bottom flange, maintaining parallelism. Linear guide of that shift is made by a precise shaft that moves on linear bearings. The shift is made up of a pair of flanges connected by bellows, in which the free one moves towards the fixed one in a controlled, precise motion while keeping the flange faces parallel. Its action is similar to the Z Slide manipulator, but its positioning precision and travel length are lower. The standard mounting flange is DN 40CF or DN 63CF. The shift is actuated by a handwheel and can work in any orientation.
Application
The High Stability Linear Shifts are used in applications not needing the higher precision and graduated movement of other linear motion devices and can be used for:
- Manipulation of surface science tools with respect to a sample's position
- Manipulation of evaporation and sputter sources
- Manipulation of electron and x-ray sources
- Manipulation of quartz oscillators
- Sample transfer applications
- Analytical devices
Additional information
The High Stability Linear Shifts are designed for the linear movement of instruments without tilt or wobble in the movement and allowing precision alignment before and after pump-down.
