The radial distribution chambers (UFO) are designed to transfer samples between multiple chambers that surround the distribution chamber.

The chambers are normally mounted at the centre of a series of chambers. They can be used to combine one or more systems together.

Application

The radial distribution chamber mechanism is a transporting and rotating mechanism of radial distribution
chamber (UFO) for transferring sample holders from UFO to other chambers (e.g. cleaver chamber, reactor
chamber etc.). The radial distribution chamber mechanism is a development of the linear rack-and-pinion
transporter, where a single ended rack-and-pinion can be rotated within a radial chamber until it is aligned in a
preset position at a radial port on the housing chamber by a rotary drive. Once locked in position, the same rotary
drive moves the rack out through the port.

• Transfer of hot and cold samples
• Fast and reliable drop-proof transfer of hot and cold samples (time to transfer between two chambers below 45
seconds)
• Fast transfer time allows cold samples to stay cold (temperature rise depends on start temperature, heat
capacity, transfer time, etc.)
