Satellite tested on PREVAC’s apparatus.

Soon, the second polish satellite, „Heweliusz“ will be launched into space.

The satellite is part of the BRITE project, an international collaboration between Poland, Canada and Austria. The purpose of the project is to observe the brightest stars in our galaxy and a total of six satellites will be launched. „Heweliusz“, like its predecessor „Lem“ which was launched in November, is a cube satelite with 20 cm side length and weight of 6 kg. After undergoing final tests in the Space Research Center, the satelite will be transported to Taiyuan parade ground in China with an anticipated launch date set for the middle of August. „Heweliusz“ underwent testing in a specially designed thermal vacuum chamber manufactured by PREVAC.
